Women don’t let fear cripple you any longer because of limiting beliefs. What is it about failure that tears us down before we even begin to pursue an opportunity? Is it fear of being mocked if something goes wrong? Fear of financial mistakes? “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game” -Babe Ruth. In other words, don’t let the fear of failure keep you from trying. Continue to play the game.

Past

Often our fear of failure comes from past experiences and what we’ve seen happen to others. Without a doubt telling your 8^th grade crush you liked them was so scary in middle school? We fear getting rejected. In other words we explicitly fear failing. Or, think about a friend who started a small business and was unsuccessful. You would think twice before starting your own, wouldn’t you?

Present

Let me let you in on a little secret: if your dreams don’t scare you, you aren’t dreaming big enough. Fear is actually an indicator that we are pursuing something that matters to us. If you weren’t passionate about what scares you, you wouldn’t care what happens, would you? 

Future

While fear can be a great indicator of big dreams, it can undeniably deter us from even trying. Risk is scary, but often, taking a leap of faith can be the greatest thing that ever happens to us. You can go your whole life playing it safe, never trying, and honestly, things will probably be fine. But, do you really want to look back on your life knowing that you could have tried and didn’t? Your are Fearless!

First Steps

I don’t say any of this to discourage you. In fact, I want to encourage you to take that initial step. Make the call, schedule the appointment, start the project, begin the process. You are worth the investment in yourself to just see what can happen. My dream for you is that in 30 years you look back and see the moment in your life that you allowed yourself to simply go after it.

Women don’t let fear cripple you, let it challenge you. See it as a test created just for you to go out and defy the odds. Remember: play the game. You can do this!
