How are you going magnify your setback into your comeback? Turning it into something positive is a boss move than you can master easily with the right mindset. When things happen that stop us in our tracks. Its easy to get caught up in our heads. Sometimes we believe that we deserved it or we can never move on from it.
Using a little bit of willpower on your part helps you shift your mindset from negative to positive. This will change your heartache into the defining moment of your life which will help you not only survive, but thrive.
Stop Being So Hard on Yourself
Acknowledging the hurt and pain is bad enough, but so often we blame ourselves and go over the incident in our minds a thousand times, and a thousand different ways to justify someone else’s actions. This makes us turn against ourselves and question what we could have done differently to change the outcome.
Stop being so hard on yourself and cut yourself some slack. Acknowledge whatever part you played in it and let it go. No one is perfect…….not even you.
Forgive You
If the setback was due to your own actions, ok. Have a pity party if you must for a few days and then work towards forgiving yourself. While this isn’t always easy, the best way to forgive yourself is to start with the fact that you did the best you could at the time. When you really believe that sentence, it will start to resonate with you and you can begin the forgiving process.
You know as well as anyone else does, that you wouldn’t intentionally cause yourself hurt or pain. You did the best you could at the time for whatever reason. The power of forgiveness is real and it allows you to take your power back, by not being held down with the belief that you did something wrong.
Extreme times call for extreme measures
If the setback was a defining moment in your life, now is the time to re-evaluate. This may be the time in your journey where you decide to change careers, start a business, buy a house, or move to a new town. Have you been holding yourself back from doing the thing or things you really have been wanting to do? Now is the time to be bold and make your true dreams a reality.
After a tough time, switching things up and taking extreme action in your life can be just what is needed to help you get back on track. But not only to get back on the track you were on, but to do something shocking.
Learn to be OK Alone for a little while
If you are used to being around a lot of people all the time, this one can be tough, but it offers clarity. Taking time to ourselves is a necessary step in the healing process and offers you the chance to be still. Life moves at an extremely fast pace and we get caught up in other peoples stuff without focusing on our own.
Embrace being alone for a little while so you can get pretty comfortable with yourself. This time of transformation can be used to your advantage when you rely on yourself more and not on others for your happiness.
Magnifying your setback into your comeback will make you feel proud and accomplished by following the roadmap laid out for you above. Put yourself first in all that you do and your next steps will come easy to you. Just slow down enough to pay attention and follow your heart, even if its broken right now, you will rise again.
